I've collected a little more info. The version of dmalloc5
in use is 5.5.1. On the web site, http://dmalloc.com/releases/
there is a 5.5.2.
I tried installing dmalloc5 from the source package, just in
case it was an issue with the binary and funny enough, I
get a segfault when it is building the 'light' version. But
it the dpkg build keeps on running and appears to terminate
successfully.
You might want to try replicating this.
apt-get source --compile libdmalloc5
