I have a soundcard in my PC which I know works with both sound and speech under Windows so I can play a DVD while navigating it with my screenreader as speech is produced through the soundcard. How do I get multichannel sound using the same card in Ubuntu because at some point I am hoping to go totally over to Linux when screenreader access is better. I am wondering if multichannel sound is only supported in Windows with my soundcard.
