To get an idea where in the code the problem is, could you try disabling a few things (only one at a time) to see if it makes the problem go away: - System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Visual Effects: Set to none - In xorg.conf "Device" section, one of the following lines at a time: Option "NoAccel" "true" Option "Tiling" "false" Option "DRI" "false"
