Thanks for reporting this bug. It looks similar to bug #702090, except this one has a more complete batch buffer. I am not sure what's caused this lockup though. I'd like to send this upstream, however they will want to see the bug reproduced with newer X packages.
We're going to be moving natty to its new X stack within the next week or so. Currently this stack is available in xorg-edgers, and our testing is showing it to be quite stable. I'd like to have you attempt to reproduce your issue with this new stack. If it still occurs with that stack, we can then take the the bug upstream, or approach the kernel team or other appropriate groups about it. (They may also want to see it reproduced with the latest -intel driver, so we may have to have you do some additional testing after this, but at least this will be an easy starting point.) The PPA is available at: https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa Here's a simple way to install: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade Then reboot your system to get to the new bits. If you want to go back to stock Ubuntu, there is a corresponding ppa-purge tool: sudo ppa-purge xorg-edgers sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/703382 Title: [i965gm] GPU lockup 202bc51f (EIR: 0x00000010) _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
