Okay, that starts to make sense; I wondered if it might be something like that.
Would you mind booting to a LiveCD and see if the hang reproduces? What I'm thinking is that it's not unusual for random config files, settings, etc. to accumulate over time. In theory Ubuntu should work fine swapped between hardware, but given that you say you're seeing other bugs too I have to wonder if you've just got some cruft built up. So testing a LiveCD should avoid all of that. Fwiw, while in theory a Ubuntu installation should transfer fine from computer to computer, with my own hardware I don't trust that and always do fresh reinstalls (after backing up all my personal files). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/850772 Title: False GPU lockup EIR: 0x00000010 PGTBL_ER: 0x00000012 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/850772/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
