Hi there, i also have this lappie, i checked the screen brightness and the problem is even bigger... the first thing is - yes - the cde events are inivible by xev, but after i do: dmesg | tail i can see them:
[ 2690.098867] atkbd.c: Use 'setkeycodes 6a <keycode>' to make it known.
