Confirm same issue with Dell Inspiron N5110 -- Core i7 Sand Bridge Mobile. Xubuntu 12.04. Tried all kernels from 3.2 through 3.5rc1. Same issue.
Rebuilt all Intel drivers from git source -- same issue. NOT using Compiz KERNEL panics from iwlwifi/mac80211 fixed after recompiling. NOT using Gnome or Gnome Shell or unity. Using Bumblebee for Optimus graphics. libva vaapi working beautifully. vdpau not working?
