** Description changed: X defaults to 800x600 and only offers 640x480 resolutions for the Xenarc 700TSV( http://www.xenarc.com/product/700tsv.html ). The native resolution for this monitor is 800x480. The motherboard I am using is the Jetway J7F2WE2G( http://www.jetway.com.tw/jw/ipcboard_view.asp?productid=277&proname=J7F2WE2G ), which has the VIA UniChrome graphics chip. The Xenarc FAQ( http://www.xenarc.com/faq.html#QA1 ) lists the following modelines, of which the second one seems to work best for this monitor: For Linux users, you can use the following Modeline in your XF86Config file to get 800x480: Modeline "800x480" 31.746 800 864 944 1000 480 508 511 525 -hsync -vsync or Modeline "800x480" 31.746 800 860 940 1000 480 508 511 525 -hsync -vsync or Modeline "800x480" 38.55 800 832 976 1032 480 489 495 613 -hsync -vsync + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: VIA Technologies, Inc.
