I just attached the two gdb backtraces from when it hangs. I must add
that during the "make" process of the newly patched radeon driver, I get
this warning :

radeon_drm_queue.c: In function ‘radeon_drm_queue_alloc’:
radeon_drm_queue.c:95:9: warning: return makes integer from pointer without a
cast [-Wint-conversion]
  return NULL;

Maybe that explains why the monitor never wakes up after being turned
off with the newly patched driver ?
