Public bug reported: three-finger taps are not working with my touchpad. One-finger, two- finger, three-finger, four-finger, and five-finger taps are detected by evtest, but only single and double finger taps are detected by xev. All other touchpad features are working, including two-finger vertical scrolling, two-finger horizontal scrolling, tap and drag, clicking on the left and right virtual buttons on the bottom of the touchpad.
My end goal is to use two-finger tap for paste (i.e. middle click) and three-finger for right-click, but the three-finger tap is not detected. If it matters, a two-finger tap still brings up the right-click menu after running "synclient TapButton2=2". I'm running Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS x86_64 on a Dell Inspiron 7559. logs from xev and evtest are attached.
