Public bug reported: During our test for moorethreads GPU on Ubuntu 20.04 with lightdm+gnome+xorg desktop environment, we found that it can load DDX with mtgpu.drv.so, but during screen locking, the lightdm will start a new Xorg to display a greeter, this new Xorg would match a driver of modesettings_drv.sio instead of a correctly one mtgpu_drv.so.
After debuging, we found the root cause is that xf86VideoPtrToDriverList function of Xorg is absent support for moorethreads GPU, there is a patch to fix this and hope it can be merged to Ubuntu release (20.04 LTS and following). ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "mt_pci_vendor.patch" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2024520/+attachment/5681079/+files/mt_pci_vendor.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2024520 Title: Moorethread GPU driver support on Xorg To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/2024520/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
