The webcam program Cheese is also impacted. According to a recent edit to the AspireOne pages of the Ubuntu Community Docs :
"A workaround for this is to force it with xrandr --fbmm 195x113. This can be made persistent by creating a script /etc/gdm/Init/:0 containing: #!/bin/sh xrandr --fbm 195x113 Make it executable with chmod 755 /etc/gdm/Init/:0. " I can confirm this works, much better than the workaround I sort of derived myself with some info I found about DPI. Apparently the cause is not quite what I assumed (I'm no expert, just trying to let somebody know there is a problem). I'd take this to the right place if I understood the situation better, in specific what module is bugged. Clearly something is wrong, somewhere. Any ideas more specifically with this new information/workaround? -- Acer AspireOne xorg defaults to 58x135 dpi instead of 96x96 so video playback aspect ratio (avi, etc) is incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/457821 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
