Calvin, it is possilble that this will work better with the upgrade of xserver-xorg-video-intel from 2:2.9.1-3ubuntu4 to -3ubuntu5, which re- enables DRI. We got quite a few reports of boot problems when DRI was disabled (to try to work around stability issues) in -3ubuntu3. Unfortunately, I don't think there will be an LiveCD with -3ubuntu5 available before the final release.
