Cindy,
There are two neighborhood listserves you may be referring to.
PFSNI (Penn Faculty & Staff for Neighborhood Issues) can be subscribed
to thus: // *W*rite this message: subscribe /pfsni/ yourem...@ddress
yourname. It is a quiet list, mostly with informational bulletins,
although occasionally there is discussion. I see little on PFSNI that is
not on the other two neighborhood lists and, honestly, not much content
that reflects the "university" part of University City life.
UCNeighbors can be subscribed to thus: Go to
http://lists.asc.upenn.edu/mailman/listinfo/ucneighbors and fill out the
simple form thereat. UCNeighbors is hosted by the University of
Pennsylvania in the same way that this list, UC-list, long known as
"purple", is hosted by Villanova University out on the Main Line, but
neither list reflects any institutional input from either university. It
sees more discussion than either UC-list or PFSNI and, as a rule, is the
most active arena for town-gown interactions these days.
I don't know if PFSNI is moderated, but little happens on it that might
call for moderation. UCNeighbors is moderated. UC-list is not moderated.
