As there is still no sign of a 2.5.2 package from Debian, and FinalFreeze is one week away, it's most likely we will keep 2.4.2 for a third release.
I recommend anyone playing Nexuiz on Karmic to upgrade to 2.5.2, as there are an enormous number of changes and improvements, and this will bring you in line with practically all public servers. You can either use the upstream zip[1], or Michael's PPA[2].
