Squeezecenter starts when your system starts, and runs as a background service. There is no need -normally- for an icon or manual intervention. >From another computer on your network your should be able to access SqueezeCenter from http://10.0.0.7:9000/ >From the computer that runs SqueezeCenter you should normally be able to use either http://10.0.0.7:9000/ or http://127.0.0.1:9000
It might be easier to use names rather than computer addresses. This is useful in case the computers are given, from time to time, a different address by the router. Dynamic addressing is a function called "DHCP". You have defined the computer name when installing Ubuntu (defaults to ubuntu I think), and normally your router has become aware of it. If it has, then you can use from any computer: http://computer_name:9000 (replace computer_name with, e.g. ubuntu). On the computer that runs SqueezeCenter you can use either: http://computer_name:9000 or http://localhost:9000 (respectively corresponding to 10.0.0.7 and 127.0.0.1). The computer is always aware of its own name, that's a good way to check you're using the right name. -- epoch1970 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56053 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
