You could fix the oytput sample rate to 44100 ( -r 44100) and enable
resampling (in squeezelite or in the server), but I suppose the problem
here is DMIX, it ill always resample to the 'common' sample  rate. I'd
use the hw device to be sure to bypass any mixer.
