@Claus I'm aware that I should not be using maven idea plugin, but instead load the POM in intellij. That is what I am doing.
The reason I raised this issue was that the http://camel.apache.org/building.html page suggests using the maven idea plugin, which is obsolete now. And my suggestion was to update that page with what you just said. Also, I didn't think of loading only the POM for the component that I need to work on. Awesome suggestion +1. Maybe this should be mentioned as well on the building page?
