Its well if browser is giving 'Its work' page. Because it does not give any home page like tomcat gives.

For uninstalling it just remove the all content from your installation directory and make a new installation as you required.It may be giving problem because you upgrade 2.0.63 to 2.2.8. Just try to make new installation from scratch for different versions. There may be different idea for upgrading but I am not fully confident about it.
