Terry:

Those instructions are for UNIX based systems, but are valid, in part for 
Windows98.

Try using the search function to find the first two files and then either rename
them or delete them.  The third file should be deleted.  There should be no 
registry
entries for OpenOffice.org that would cause this function to "fire".  Once the 
files are moved out of the way, OpenOffice.org should start without a problem.
