I was attempting to muck with one of my E310s and decided to follow the
directions from here:
https://kb.ettus.com/Software_Development_on_the_E310_and_E312#QUICKSTART
to set it up for RFNoC.
I followed the directions, but when I source the setup_env.sh in
/home/root/usr, nothing happens. Looking into the file, I see that it
is setting up all the directories to be the same as my host machine
(/home/jmat/prefix) instead of where they should be on the E310
(/home/root/usr).
Is there a step missing from the directions that keep the paths from
being absolute? Otherwise, I don't see how the setup can work as-is.

I got it. I needed to go into ~/usr/usr and change set_env to have
LOCALPREFIX=~/usr/usr. Then once i sourced that set_env all was good.

Subject: [USRP-users] Looking for a BasicTX and BasicRX (1-30Mhz)
daughterboard for USRP1
Message-ID: <[email protected]>

Hello,
I want to do some experimentation in the HF (3-30Mhz) band with gnuradio
blocks, to build myself a software ham radio station.
I like to make filters, and with this low frequencies everything is very
forgiving, and in the PA you can use MOSFET that are usually seen in
computer power supply, it's quite fun !
In the USRP1 (the very first!) I have, there is no daughterboard. So I
wanted to buy the BasicRX and the BasicTX, but I can't afford to pay 170
? to get a PCB with only 5 passive and an i2c eeprom.
So I will maybe try to build myself the board, but the connector inside
the USRP is not very easy to find.
Maybe some of us have this little board laying somewhere and no longer
use it ?
Maybe I can buy it from you, and it will make a very happy young ham (I
passed the exam 4 months ago) !
It's mainly for doing weak digital signal like JT65/WSPR.
Thank you for your help

Sorry I made a mistake, it's not the BasicRX and BasicTX but the LFRX,
and LFTX.

Hi ,
I set a time on 105MHz and collected data with center freqnecy 99 MHz at
sampling rate 16 Msps and set the bandwidth to 4MHz and collected data
using rx_samples_to_file in E310 board. When I plotted the data , I was
able to see the tone which should have not been visible. After couple of
trials , I understood that rx_samples_to_file collect data based on
samplerate and the bandwidth specification does not have any effect. Has
anyone noticed this ...

Subject: [USRP-users] E310 compatibility issue
Message-ID:

I am having an E310 compatibility issue that I can't seem to resolve.
When messing with things earlier in RFNoC, I decided to go back to
regular UHD for my associates. I cross-compiled UHD and moved it over
and get this error now:
root@ettus-e3xx-sg1:~# uhd_usrp_probe
[INFO] [UHDlinux; GNU C++ version 4.9.2; Boost_105700;
UHD_3.11.0.git-208-g1da86f9c]
[INFO] [E300] Loading FPGA image:
/usr/share/uhd/images/usrp_e310_fpga.bit...
[INFO] [E300] FPGA image loaded
[INFO] [E300] Initializing core control...
[INFO] [E300] Performing register loopback test...
[INFO] [E300] Register loopback test passed
Error: RuntimeError: Expected FPGA compatibility number 16.x, but got 14.0:
The FPGA build is not compatible with the host code build.
Please run:
"/usr/lib/uhd/utils/uhd_images_downloader.py"
I want to be running UHD 3.9.2, so I checked out that tag and rebuilt
things and did an install like this:
make install DESTDIR=~/E310_remote/home/root/usr/
If I then source set_env, everything is happy again.
I then decided to try to make things permanent and did an install like
this: make install DESTDIR=~/E310_remote/usr/
Now when I reboot, I get the compatibility errors again. But if I
source the set_env in /usr, things are happy again. So why isn't this
getting source automagically since I installed it over /usr?
