Um, I think you are kidding here, but I can't be sure.  If people are flamed 
for asking a question it is very rare.

There are a few very vocal people on the list, but 90% is just opinion.  Maybe

Define vast majority of operating systems... you are subscribed to a LINUX 
newsletter.  The default (and for good reason) for most linux email readers 
is plain text. If you want to get help from the people using standards based 
email readers you should use plain text.  Lighten up...
