that solution doesn't solve enough problems. I have added ~/bin in my path and put a symlink to mvim there. an alias my work better sense it's automatically updated when the target moves but my account is about the only thing that uses this program. I have many other things in that folder so it makes sense. Plus if you dont like having it listed, you could just prepend a dot and it should still work.
