Note that large drives of several GB's mostly run at higher RPMs than those who were originally installed in the Compact Macs and can ask too much current from your PSU, more than it can deliver. Sometimes these can spin up but then don't get enough power anymore to operate ( move their heads, read, write). If it are not high RPM drives and the HDD spins up and down a few times then it's likely stiction of the heads in the parking position. Not much you can do about that. Norton reports that the drive is not HFS.
