I saw this issue using the Australian English voice with 7.12/7.12. Since
version 8.0 it happened to me couple of times at least using Alex.

Cheers,

Subject: Anyone Else using Compact Daniel?

I'm using the compact version of the British English voice, Daniel, on my
phone. I find I can really crank it up, to the max in fact, and still have
it very intelligible.

Since iOS 7, I've had a really annoying annoyance and I'd like to know if
anyone else is experiencing it. If they are not, then I'll take the time to
reset all my settings in the hope I can get this fixed.

The issue is that if I set "speak auto-text" to on in Speech Settings, so
suggested corrections etc are spoken automatically, eventually it gets
toggled back to off without me actually doing so.

It appears that if I use another voice, the problem doesn't exist.

Has anyone else seen this, with compact Daniel or any other voice?

As I say, if it's not a common problem, I'll reset all my settings and start
over, but before I do that I'd like to have some confidence it's worth
doing.
