I'm trying to build 5.8.6 on VMS 7.3-1, Compaq C V6.5-001 and an ODS-2 disk.
The build stops as follows:
[snip]
Making Encode (dynamic)
Checking if your kit is complete...
Looks good
Writing Descrip.MMS for Encode::Byte
[snip]
Reading viscii (viscii)
Writing compiled form
14250 bytes in string tables
4559 bytes (24.2%) saved spotting duplicates
10 bytes (0.0701%) saved using substrings
MCR feda01$dkc0:[utility.perl-5_8_6]miniperl.exe "-I[---.lib]" "-I[---.lib]"
sysaxp2:[utility.perl-5_8_6.lib.ExtUtils]xsubpp -nolin
enumbers -typemap [---.lib.ExtUtils]typemap BYTE.xs >BYTE.C
CC/DECC /Include=[]/Standard=Relaxed_ANSI/Prefix=All/Obj=.obj
/NOANSI_ALIAS/float=ieee/ieee=denorm_results/Define=("VERSION=""2.00""
","XS_VERSION=""2.00""")/Include=([---],[-.Encode])/NoList BYTE.c
%MMK-F-NOACTION, actions to build BYTE_T.OBJ unknown
At this point the MMK subprocess appears to go into an infinite loop doing
lots of I/O and using lots of CPU but with no files open.
I see that BYTE.c has been compiled and the same directory contains BYTE_T.C
so I'm confused as to why MMK has a problem building BYTE_T.OBJ.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dave
