http://www.glug.org/people/ttn/software/autoconf-for-vms/ Now, I recognize that Perl configuration doesn't actually use autoconf, but this would be an interesting direction. Generating the MMS/MMK from standard makefiles that are being maintained for us. I know that's sorta kinda what's being done now, but there might be some advantages to the approach and experience being gained above. Thought I'd point this out for discussion. I've come not to bake the bread, but I certainly will volunteer to eat! -Jordan Henderson
