Hi Joe,

This is what I noticed that may need correcting:

1.  I see a reference to RC6 for the download packages.    I realize they will be updated, and they all go currently goes to a 404 page.   Just a note about it :) 2.  Sec 6.6 - Under FT8 DXpedition mode.    You may want to change the 'must use' to version 2.0 or later. 3.  Sec 7.3 Auto-Sequencing - may need to update the screen capture of the main window checkboxes.    The current one shows the NA VHF Context box which may confuse new users.
4.  Sec 10.4 still talks about the RX <- TX and TX <- RX buttons.
5.  Sec 10.5 still shows the pre-1.9 Message tabs (no Tab 3)

And some suggestions:

1. Along with the note on FT8/MSK144 compatibility, add one on compound callsigns and contests, I'd also include a link to the compound callsign area of the guide. 2. Add a definition for DT.   Most long time users know it shows the time difference, but its not spelled out, and I've seen some new users have questions about it. 3.  Based on the issues I've seen with Mac users, you may need to be specific about the OS-X version needed. 4.  Sec 4.2 Radio - you may want to add a note for Windows users about USB com port 'power' settings - do not let windows turn off device
5.  Sec 4.3 Audio - add note - as for 4.2
6.  Sec 4.6 Freq - perhaps a screen cap of the 'right click' menu when you're talking about adding/deleting/resetting the frequencies. 7.  Sec 4.7 Colors - I'd definitely include some sort of matrix table (if possible) showing the hierarchy of how the alerts are shown. Knowing the type of questions about such seen on the JT-Alert support list ... it may save y'all some headaches. 8.  Sec 4.7 Colors - Definitely needs more info about the LoTW validation, not sure if you want to include any info on the OpenSSL fix or the LoTW download.    Definitely need to add info on what the 'age of last upload' means :) 9.  Sec 4.8 Advanced - I'd add to the explanation of the ARRL entry boxes by adjusting the wording to make sure that the box to the right is the one you're talking about.  I've seen questions from new contesters asking about what goes in which box for the ARRL RTTY Roundup.    One person was entering something in each and was wondering why it didn't 'save'.      It may be a good idea to have an entry about each selection in the Special Ops Activity area, with a hyperlink to additional info about each. 10.  Sec 6.6 FT8 - under DXpedition mode Warning - wondering if you need to add info that it is also not to be used during contests ? 11.  Sec 7.5 Compound Callsigns - may want to add a brief opening paragraph explaining that they are handled differentely in FT8 & MSK144 due to their 77 bit mode, and that its not possible to do this with the other modes due to the word size limitation. 12. Sec 10.1.2 File Menu - definitely need to add explanations for all the sub-menu items.
13. 10.1.4 View Menu - may want to add a screenshot of the 'Contest Log'
14. 10.1.6 Decode Menu - possible hyperlink to AP Decoding section, as well as a paragraph explanign 'Fast,Normal,Deep' 15. 10.2 Button Row - may want to add a note about contest sent/rcvd entries are filled only if on message tab 1. Alternative add note under Sec. 10.5 16. 10.4 Center - if possible, include screen caps of the various configurations the screen center displays for different modes/contests.    Hound/Field Day/RTTY display, etc. 17. 10.5 Tx Messages - add note as suggested in my 15 above that contest mode logging requires use of Tab 1. 18. 10.7 Wide Graph - add note about 'controls' checkbox on top left of waterfall? 19. 11 Logging - obviously the Cabrillo log needs to be addressed .. I suspect its coming, but had to point it out

I hope this helps, not hinders any improvements in the User Guide.

Hi all,

I have posted what I'm calling a "minimally acceptable" WSJT-X 2.0 User Guide on the WSJT web site:

http://www.physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx-doc/wsjtx-main-2.0.0.html

It's what will come up in your browser when you click *Online User Guide" from the Help menu in RC4, RC5, or the soon-to-be posted GA release of WSJT-X 2.0.

Like previous User Guides, tis one will continue to evolve as we make additions and corrections.  If you find things missing or wrong, please let us know!
