You most certainly can share the rig amongst several programs....as long as the
program isn't actively trying to do anything with the rig which I haven't found
one yet that conflicts.
Now you have 3 ways to do this.
FlRigrigctld-wsjtxrigctlcom-wsjtx
It all depends on what your ham application knows about. Most do not know
about FLRig...a few know about rigctld-wsjtx...and most every app knows how to
use rigctlcom-wsjtx which emulates a TS-2000 on a virtual serial port.
You can actually run all 3 of the above at the same time which I have tested.
I use FLRig as the primary rig control. Then launch a copy of "rigctld-wsjtx
-m 4" to connect rigctld to FLRig. Then launch a copy of "rigctlcom-wsjtx -m 4
-R COM4" for apps like Ham Radio Deluxe and N1MM which then hook up to COM5 as
a TS-2000.
I have Log4OM talking to rigctlcom, WSJT-X talking to FLRig, And can also run
N1MM or HRD.
All happily running together.
So this is the connectivity
FLRig->RigWSJT-X->FLRigLog4OM->rigctld-wsjtx->FLRigN1MM->rigctlcom-wsjtx->FLRig

Hi Mike,
I cannot understand how such a setting can work well without any control
conflicts. There is no serialization, no arbitration. Perhaps I'm
thinking to much in the computer science logic.
Best wishes,
