The Young Communist league of South Africa (uFasimba) finds Helen Zille’s
vicious claims about the Human Rights Commission as highly opportunistic,
shallow and a blatant attack on the integrity of our democratic
institutions.

This attack comes after the Human Rights commission has initiated an
investigation in the brutal attacks of civilians in Hangberg, Houtbay.
Residents of Hangberg have been victims of brutal violence in the hands of
the SAPS and the metro Police under the command of the City of Cape town.
This shows that Hellen Zille has no regard for the poor communities in the
Western Cape.

When institutions investigate the ANC they are seen as progressive and
defenders of our Constitution and democracy by the very same DA. Seemingly
when the tables turn and such similar legal process are applied to the DA,
they are labelled as Political Hit-squads. This is extremely hypocritical
considering how vocal the DA is on issues of morality and integrity.

We should all defend the Integrity of institutions such as the Human Rights
Commission and appreciates their level of objectivity and respect for the
law and Constitution Justice should never be selective if we claim to live
in a democratic society. We welcome the investigation and hope that it will
expose the racism and human rights violation demonstrated by the DA led
government in the Western Cape
