Is this a new error ? i.e. it used to work ? The issue is that x86 defaults to 64bit, and this is a 32 bit build. We had to force disable it, to get the kernel to build 32bit. The commit is here (on git://git.yoctoproject.org/yocto-kernel-cache yocto-4.4 branch): commit ff423148afe0b7e48ea8a8c0758391f9b4790912 Author: Bruce Ashfield <bruce.ashfi...@windriver.com> Date: Mon Jul 11 13:40:13 2016 -0400 common-pc: enforce 32 bit ARCH=x86 defaults to 64 bit on modern kernels. So we need to explicitly disable 64bit in common-pc if we want a 32bit build (common-pc builds with ARCH=x86, not ARCH=i386) Signed-off-by: Bruce Ashfield <bruce.ashfi...@windriver.com> :100644 100644 d6302a63dfaa... 70df605fe41c... M bsp/common-pc/common-pc-cpu.cfg And I'd bet that isn't in play on krogoth, since unless my -stable kernels have come back, the kernel-cache update wouldn't have either.
