Hi, You might want to take a look at bitbake's documentation:
https://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/2.0/bitbake-user-manual/bitbake-user-manual.html#gitsm-fetcher It actually has a git submodules fetcher (gitsm://). I haven't used it, but it should be straightforward.
