[EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-08 05:49 ------- This is now fixed. You guys are awesome. Special thanks to Buchan Milne for helping me through the troubleshooting of this and helping to establish that it was a real bug. I may be wrong, but I don't believe that as much attention would have been paid to it were it not for him. I updated to the latest cooker snapshot (20030307) ran drakconnect again and the hostname is set properly [EMAIL PROTECTED] greg]$ getent hosts `hostname` 192.168.0.6 cooker.local Yaaayyyy! Hopefully everybody else's name resolution issue is solved too. I am very happily marking this bug FIXED and then I am going to bed. I have had enough cookering for one night. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: RESOLVED creation_date: description: When I configure my network during rc1 installation, no matter what hostname I enter when configuring dhcp, the computer uses dhcppc8, which I assume is being assigned by the dhcp server. The address being assigned by the server is 192.168.0.9. Why ask for a hostname if it will not be used in the configuration files permanently?
