The main Fedora ghc package will continue to be maintained and upgraded along with the ecosystem. It is not completely clear yet if the ghc package set will move to ghc-9.0 in time for F36 GA, otherwise hopefully to ghc-8.10.7. ghcX.Y can also provide a better testing ground for packaging improvements (than the ghc modules) before they land in the main ghc package. It will make new minor ghc versions more easily available in Fedora (and EPEL where ghcX.Y will be even more meaningful). Jens
