Ed,

I have tried for a few years to come up with a good setting for the NB that does not degrade FT8 performance. If you find one, please share it. It seems that any combination of settings I use, reduces the FT8 decode ability greatly for low level signals. The net is a minus in decoding ability with the NB on. I have a very loud set of horticultural lights in my area, about a block away, as the source. My noise level has been reduced lately to only S6...

73, and thanks,

I'm trying to use the DSP NB on local noise to improve my 6m reception of very weak signals (i.e. eme signals).

There are three ranges of DSP NB T-1, T-2, and T-3 with level settings of 1 to 7.  The levels are self explanatory, but have found no description about the three ranges (application, function, etc)

I've inquired of fellow K3 owners that do eme and they say it improves SNR with no deterioration of digital signals (specifically JT65 or Q65).  FT8 is probably a good test and more widely used.

Opinions and recommendations.

My 6m local noise peaks to S7 in the NE and drops to S2 when antenna is rotated to SE thru West.  Elevating 13-degrees also helps, dropping S7 to S4.
