Yes, I agree that removing Scala from the core is the right thing to do. Then 
the Flink project can provide an official Scala user API, or not, and either 
way we'll be able to use the Java API from any version of Scala or develop 3rd 
party Scala bindings.

So if that's the way to go, is there a story for that? Anything we can do to 
help in that direction?
