HI!

I'm really starting to despair of my sanity! Either I'm really getting too old for all this shit or those who have put their heads together with the RDCs around SLAAC and DHCPv6 have really consumed the most blatant dope!

Why?

Okay, I'll tell you. I've already had to find out the hard way that a client doesn't send two DHCPDISCOVER messages for announced GUA and ULA prefixes.

As an alternative, I then thought to myself, well, then let the radvd in its router announce advertisement messages for the GUA prefix SLAAC and refer to a DHCPv6 for the assignment of the ULA, which then assigns these statically on the basis of the DUID. Well, that's the theory and my reasoning, BUT: For DHCP, the AdvManagedFlag must be set to "on" and AdvAutonomouse to "off". For SLAAC, both values are the other way around. But now I have the problem that the parameter AdvManagedFlag in radvd.conf is defined for the interface and AdvAutonomous for the prefix, and defining the same interface eth1 twice fails with a radvd -c with an error. :/

Now the question arises, how can I configure the radvd so that the GUA can be assigned via SLAAC but the ULA statically via DHCPv6? Or how on earth do I get static ULA from kea-dhcp6 and GUAs via SLAAC? It can't be impossible what I'm trying to do.

I'm at my wit's end and I'm enjoying the best Scottish whiskey or Mexican tequila ...

Best regards...
