Yes, I feel stupid. I realized immediately after sending that that the domain name is irrelevant. The content can be hosted anywhere -- it's retrieving the content and finding somewhere to host it that needs to be done. The hosting company would be on a subscription basis, so we need to move before that expires or lapses.
So is anyone in touch with either Lorelei's brother or sister? I don't have such a subscription myself but I'm willing to take over the lynxlady subscription as an emergency measure, until a long term solution is worked out. Or do something else to help.
