Brian, FYI, I had previously installed tcl-devel but had overlooked tk-devel on the OS. Now that I've installed tk-devel on the OS, the following sequence of commands has succeeded:
sudo ./configure --with-tcltk sudo make sudo make check sudo make install R ... > library("tcltk") Loading Tcl/Tk interface ... done > Thanks for your suggestions.
