I also snapped the seat binder bolt on my new Platypus. No amount of tightening would keep my post from sliding. I posted about this on Reddit and somebody told me that I needed to grease the threads. When I tried to remove the bolt it snapped. I replaced with a random bolt from a hardware store and used grease. Hasn't slipped again.
