Well made a live CD and tried but it didn't recognize the MA521 card.
Remembering I had to use a WinXP driver and ndiswrapper to get it to
work I decided to just upgrade the Omnibook 6000 to 8.04 alpha 6
directly and see what happens.

down the cause of the problem could you please attach the logfiles from
/var/log/dist-upgrade. Could you also describe the steps you took when
the error occurred. Were you installing regular updates or were you
trying
aidave, your issue is that you are mixing some drivers (like nvidia)
which support Xinerama, with drivers which support Xrandr (ati radeon).
You need to use drivers which all use Xinerama, so you need to revert to
an older -ati, like version 6.6.3 from Feisty. Then it will work.

Some unexperienced user will sure more likely want the standalone IDE.
Because every user with just a tiny little bit of knowlegde of Eclipse
will know how he can install the plugin in update manager of eclipse.
