This bug is nine years old, but still valid in Debian Buster.

Bug#860763: workaround?

2020-03-30 Thread Edmund Christian Herenz
So from what I understand by reading this bugreport is that there is a
workaround by removing the memory rule in
/etc/ImageMagick-6/policy.xml - but this file might be overwritten by
an security upgrade, right?

Bug#955381: qfitsview: Unuseable with dark color-themes

2020-03-30 Thread Christian Herenz
Package: qfitsview
Version: 3.3+p1+dfsg-2+b1
Severity: minor
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

I am using the qfitsview package within the KDE desktop environment.
There I have selected the "Breeze Dark" theme in "System Settings"
under the "Colours" pane. With this setting it is impossible to get a
good view of the spectrum in the application, since it is now drawn as
a black line in front of a dark background. Also some of the icons in
the toolbar are now very hard to read. It appears there is no option
within the software to change internal colours or icons.

For now I have found the following workaround with using the qt5ct
package. In qt5ct I change the settings to a light colour-scheme
(e.g. airy), and then I created an alias

 alias QFitsView='env QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct QFitsView'

Of course, the compatibility with dark qt5 colour themes is something
that, in one way or another, is something that should be addressed
upstream. But maybe something like my workaround is possible within
the package to ensure that users with a dark desktop theme do not end
up with a broken QFitsView?

Thank you very much,
Christian Herenz

Bug#896844: Any Updates?

2020-01-06 Thread Edmund Christian Herenz
I just installed Debian 10 and I found that preview-latex is not
working.
Preview-latex is one of the big features of this package.
Any chance this bug can be fixed?

As a workaround one can remove the debian package and install the
latest auctex version from elpa. However, note that the latest
version needs some adjustments to work with ghostscript 9.27, which is
shipped in debian. This is all a mess, and honestly, a dissapointment
to find this wonderfull package being shipped in such a unusable state
in debian.

Bug#528513: 4.12 in stretch - still there

2018-10-15 Thread Edmund Christian Herenz
I just want to report that this bug still appears valid in 4.12.1 as
found in stretch.

My impression is that only shortcuts involving the key are affected.

In particular I have set Ctrl+Super+Up/Down/Left/Right as Shortcut for
Upper/Bottom/Left/Right Workspace .

I made the following observation: Pressing accidentally
Fn+Ctrl+Left/Right/Up/Down
deletes only the Ctrl+Super+Left/Up functions.

Since GMAMEUI is the only Mame frontend currently in stable, it would be nice

person upstream who builds ubuntu packages:

The Manpage to this package lists the option -joymapX (where X is a number

present in the 1.5 branch of snes9x, here you have to edit the config file to
change the mappings. Trying to run snes9x with the joymapX option will not work!

Bug#501156: xcircuit: Starts in bigger dimensions than supported by my resolution!

2008-10-04 Thread Christian Herenz
Package: xcircuit
Version: 3.6.135.dfsg-1
Severity: important

Hi,
I just installed the Xcircuit-Package in testing. I use the screen-resolution
1152x864. Unfortunenately the first run of the programm genearates a window,
which is much bigger than that and thus is unusable for me, since I cannot even
see the borders of the frame to resize it. It would be possible with some WMs I
guess, but with other WM's (as for my case) you are at a complete loss, if a
window goes out of bounds.

Bug#497856: linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64: USB Storage gets mounted as read only

2008-09-04 Thread Christian Herenz
Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64

Severity: important

My MP3 Player (iRiver S10 - doesn't matter here, because acts as general USB
Storage) was mounted with the last but one revision of the kernel in testing
mounted with read and write acsess, the next version broke usb-storage
completely, this bug is now marked as fixed:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=494800
So I updated eagerly to the new version of the kernel today with aptitude.
The Device now seems to get mounted correctly:

this is a bug.

Bug#465729: So timidity is causes this error?

2008-08-28 Thread Christian Herenz

I am using Debian Lenny and I also got have this problem. Splashy won't
start KDM. However, what Yuya Nishihara suggests, won't work for me
(also my timidity seems to be properly configured, since I do not get
this message). So, splashy is unuseable at the moment. I dunno what
update caused this error, cause at first everything worked fine, but
since 3 (or 4) days I get this error. I almost update my system daily.

I also have no second machine to log in my system with ssh, so the only
way to properly use my machine at the moment, is to disable splashy -- a
real showstopper here!
