Package: python3-path
Version: 11.0.1-1
Severity: serious
User: helm...@debian.org
Usertags: python-import

After installing python3-path importing the module path
into a python interpreter fails with the following error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "", line 1, in
  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/path.py", line 52, in
import distutils.dir_util
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'distutils.dir_util'

The vast majority of import failures is attributed to missing dependencies.
Often times that manifests as an ImportError or ModuleNotFoundError.
Typically, dependencies should be inserted by dh-python via ${python:Depends}
or ${python3:Depends}. Thus a missing dependency can be caused by incomplete
install_requires in setup.py. Sometimes a missing dependency of a dependency
is the cause, in such cases this bug should be reassigned.

I apologize, the changelog file contains "Closes: #842087", where it
should contain: Closes: #896179, hence the Cc: to
896179-d...@bugs.debian.org

... which should definitely close the bug report. The "Closes: #842087"
should not harm, since it overkills your ITP bug report, already closed

Done. Maybe you have to reply some e-mail from salsa.debian.org to

Bug#892201: nlohmann-json build issues with gcc 7.2

2018-04-23 Thread Gianfranco Costamagna
control: tags -1 patch pending
Hello,

> But it may also be worth looking into whether the issue is still present
> when compiling with gcc 7.3, as it may have just been a bug in gcc 7.2.

I rebased the upstream cherry-pick and uploaded in unstable, because poedit got
in the meanwhile
removed from testing.

I don't think waiting for the json3 is a good reason for kick this one out (at
least until it will be ready)

diff attached!

Bug#896657: pex fails to start

2018-04-23 Thread Matthias Dellweg
Package: pex

Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,
after installing pex, simply running in the shell lead to the following stack
trace:

AttributeError: module 'importlib._bootstrap' has no attribute 'FileFinder'

I guess the problem is that 'pex' tries to import from 'importlib._bootstrap'
which is, by naming convention, no stable API.

Package: python3-raccoon
Version: 2.1.5-1
Severity: serious
User: helm...@debian.org
Usertags: python-import

After installing python3-raccoon importing the module raccoon
into a python interpreter fails with the following error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "", line 1, in
  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/raccoon/__init__.py", line 4, in
import pkg_resources
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'pkg_resources'

The vast majority of import failures is attributed to missing dependencies.
Often times that manifests as an ImportError or ModuleNotFoundError.
Typically, dependencies should be inserted by dh-python via ${python:Depends}
or ${python3:Depends}. Thus a missing dependency can be caused by incomplete
install_requires in setup.py. Sometimes a missing dependency of a dependency
is the cause, in such cases this bug should be reassigned.

rebooted, and I have no such problems with lightdm, urxvt and vi.

Bug#896019: libglib2.0-0: undefined symbol g_date_copy breaking many programs

Please try:

ls -il /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so*
ls -il /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so*
dpkg -S libglib-2.0.so

and send the results to this bug report.

It seems that in some upgrade scenarios, users still have old versions
of GLib libraries alongside the new versions. As a result of packaging
changes in 2.56.x, those old versions are now found in preference to
the newer versions (which are now in a different directory), and that
causes these symbol lookup errors. It isn't clear why those old versions
still persist, but only for a few users: they should have been cleaned
up while upgrading to newer versions, and if that didn't work, I'd expect
all users to see these failures.

 was another
instance of the same bug.

Is there anything unusual about this system that might have caused this?

 Most of the case, quotes is better. But in this case, "$@" is extracted like

 Then, it outputs

Upstream closed the issue I reported:
https://github.com/jonschlinkert/define-property/issues/3
so that rules out option #1.

I have checked and in Debian we have no other dependent than
node-define-property:

apt-cache rdepends node-is-descriptor
node-is-descriptor
Reverse Depends:
  node-define-property

whereas on npm registry there are 5 dependents listed:
- react-native-handcheque-engine
- dk_2018_1_1
- @ngxvoice/ngx-voicelistner
- define-property
- vue-size-tracker
none of which has ITP/RFP.

So I'd propose we go straight for option #3 (downgrade node-is-descriptor to
1.0).
Can you do that please ?

Paolo

@smcv: Do you think this is a failure of dpkg/apt cleaning up old
versions? My suspicion is rather, that there is some old copy of libglib
lying around in /lib/x86_64-linux which was copied there by some 3rd
party installer, possibly lying around for years there. It was simply
undetected so far.

@rektide: the time stamp of
/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgobject-2.0.so.0.4200.0 would be interesting.
Does that coincide wit the installation of a proprietary/non-Debian
package or the use of "make install"?

Regards,
Michael

Bug#896189: Workaround

2018-04-23 Thread Nils Schasse
Maybe this helps:

The openmpi-bin.postinst uses
update-alternatives --query mpi | grep --silent libmpi

this returns Exit-Code 1 (which is tested one line below.

Since "set -e" is set, the scrips breaks here.

Workaround is:
# Delete old non-multi-arch aware mpi
set +e
 update-alternatives --query mpi | grep --silent libmpi
if [ $? -eq 0 ] ; then
  update-alternatives --remove-all mpi
fi
set -e

this runs.

The problem is in theano.

And depending on the circumstances (I cannot judge it here) it might not
even be a bug that this module expect a $HOME that points to a real location.

Bug#894770: java.lang.NullPointerException thrown while loading gnu.io.RXTXCommDriver

2018-04-23 Thread Ying-Chun Liu (PaulLiu)
Hi,

I got the same error messages.

I tried some minimal code using librxtx-java got the same messages.
Please check if I'm correct.

import java.util.*;
import gnu.io.*;

public class Test1 {
public Test1() {
Enumeration ports = CommPortIdentifier.getPortIdentifiers();
}
public static void main (String args[]) {
Test1 myTest1 = new Test1();
}
}

And save it as Test1.java
$ CLASSPATH=/usr/share/java/RXTXcomm.jar javac Test1.java
$ CLASSPATH=/usr/share/java/RXTXcomm.jar:. java Test1
java.lang.NullPointerException thrown while loading gnu.io.RXTXCommDriver
java.lang.NullPointerException thrown while loading gnu.io.RXTXCommDriver

So it seems to me that there are some problems in librxtx-java ?

Yours,
Paul

That's entirely possible.

I already asked for "ls -il" output which would tell us the timestamp
(as well as whether various files are hard-links to each other).

Whether there's a correlation with some other event is also interesting
information, though.

Yes that was just a poorly worded bugreport of mine. Its just a
prenotification yet, and the known CVE id for it.

Bug#893302: lwjgl FTBFS with openjdk-9

2018-04-23 Thread Markus Koschany
I had a go at this today. This package has multiple issues. I tried to
work around the RuntimeExceptions by returning true instead of throwing
an exception. Very bad I know.

It turned out that not only one but four classes are not properly
generated at build time. Those will cause missing symbol errors later.
Then there are several removed or deprecated sun.* classes that either
cause a build failure or warnings.

I'm attaching a simple patch that makes more of those errors visible.

lwjgl 2.9.3 is a legacy release from 2015. It is the last version of the
2.x series and no longer supported. Upstream moved to lwjgl 3. If nobody
can fix this we should consider to remove lwjgl because the new version
3 would require new Kotlin build dependencies and more.

Package: gnome-session
Version: 3.28.1-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software

Please feel free to reassign as appropriate. Something during the gnome-session
startup process sets CLUTTER_BACKEND=x11

This breaks gnome-control-center:

(gnome-control-center:4903): Clutter-Gtk-ERROR **: 20:48:43.776: ***
Unsupported backend.
Trace/Breakpoint ausgelöst

Probably breaks also other packages which use clutter.

Package: python3-gleetex

After installing python3-gleetex importing the module gleetex
into a python interpreter fails with the following error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "", line 1, in
  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/gleetex/__init__.py", line 2, in

  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/gleetex/convenience.py", line 10, in

  File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/gleetex/image.py", line 4, in
import distutils.dir_util
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'distutils.dir_util'

The vast majority of import failures is attributed to missing dependencies.
Often times that manifests as an ImportError or ModuleNotFoundError.
Typically, dependencies should be inserted by dh-python via ${python:Depends}
or ${python3:Depends}. Thus a missing dependency can be caused by incomplete
install_requires in setup.py. Sometimes a missing dependency of a dependency
is the cause, in such cases this bug should be reassigned.

Installing python-gobject seems to work around this. Suggest this is added
to dependencies.

This a problem specific to HOME not pointing to a valid home directory.

And depending on the circumstances (I cannot judge it here) it might not
even be a bug that this module expect a $HOME that points to a real location.
