TB Now, wontfix is for specific reasons, and I don't want to bother TB forwarding the bug upstream is just not an adequate reason. This is my last post about this flamewar. Maybe I'll reply to constructive post. It looks like the Debian GNOME maintainer is the part of KDE devilish plot to make GNOME look unusable and its Debian maintainer too proud of itself to develop basic communication skills. Not everybody can work with a US keyboard table if the need arises. Debian should try to get more user friendly instead of getting uglier I think. Setting keymap _before_ /usr is mounted is an interesting approach to the system boot schema design, because include statements are in most keymap files (what can result in broken keymap). When you use customized ones[1] it's not that easy. I didn't have any problems. Stock Debian 2.2.17pre source with some usual patches (devfs for example); `make menuconfig'ured (for GUS), make-kpkg kernel_image (as usual); dpkg -i kernel_package; reboot; works. The same for woody.
