  MB Hi Matt,

MB as I wanted to get rid of old gtk1.2 applications on my system, I
MB upgraded audacity to 1.3.2 and worked a bit on the packaging. The result
MB of this effort is the attached diff.gz which fixes a couple of bugs.
MB Feel free to use it as basis for a new release.

I've checked the patch and it works great for me, including the jack
backend of portaudio19. I've injected the sources in the demudi SVN:

http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/demudi/audacity/?rev=0sc=0

If you are all fine I'm going to test the package a bit more and then
upload it. Matt is it fine for you if I add myself to Uploaders? Or
even set the maintainer to the Debian Multimedia Team, and move you
and me to Uploaders..

Ciao,

Hi, Michael.

I'm not a developer on audacity, but I would like to say a big thank you
regarding this. I sincerely hope that this gets integrated soon (if it
still has not been folded into newer releases) so that it hits testing
and is released when etch is done.

Then, the only gtk1.2 application that I will have on my system would be
xmms (which I'm using mostly because my system is small --- can't deal
with the heavier players out there --- and because it has a fair
amount of plugins).

Thanks, Rogério Brito.

Hi.

I'm re-sending this message on-list, as I have not recived an off-list
response from Free Ekanayaka.

I think its better to wait until the package is injected as it is now on
the svn repository to apply Michael Biebl's patch.

My alioth username is alerios-guest. Please remember to also add the
current package maintainer: Matt Brubeck [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I'm already suscribed to the list now to start comunicating over there.

Regards.

Now that portaudio 19 is in Debian, audacity could sport jack support
too. I've built a non-official version of it, and it seems to behave
 fine.

Audacity is a cross-platform audio editor and recording program:
 http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

This package is very straightforward, and would be an excellent choice
for a New Maintainer candidate. (I am willing to act as sponsor.)
