[Bug 525642] Re: gnome-keyring does not start org.freedesktop.secrets
Hi, I tried adding the missing .service file mentioned in the upstream bug report myself, but I'm still having trouble using the keyring. If I run seahorse for example with the new service file in place, I get this error: ** Message: secret service operation failed: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. ** (seahorse:11951): WARNING **: couldn't get default keyring name: Error communicating with gnome-keyring-daemon This only happens when I use a password-less login. [Bug 410407] Re: Clicking on items in Flash player does nothing [READ DESCRIPTION]
I am the Chromium developer who fixed this again. Not that anyone cares anymore, but: the problem was that Flash breaks if GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS isn't set. The first fix was to set that in our plugin process before starting Flash. However, GTK clears the environment variable after initializing. So with nspluginwrapper we would set the variable, initialize GTK, and then call into the plugin (nspluginwrapper), which would then spawn its helper process which then would run Flash without the variable set. So as of today's release of Chrome we set the variable, initialize GTK, and then immediately set the variable again before calling into the plugin. It seems Firefox may have this second bug as well. http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=15232 If I remember tomorrow I will attempt to track down that bug in their bug tracker again. ** Bug watch added: defect.opensolaris.org/bz/ #15232 http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=15232 -- Clicking on items in Flash player does nothing [READ DESCRIPTION] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/410407 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 555122] Re: Cannot adjust brightness in Lucid Lynx
HP EliteBook 6930p has similar issues after upgrade to 10.4. It even managed to dim the display when plugging the AC cord IN after it was on full brightness running on Battery. Attempts to stop and restart the array using the GUI did not resolve the problem. The array continued to report its status as degraded and the number of components as 3 even though there were only two components. While in this state, any component added as a spare using the GUI was immediately brought into service and the array rebuilds with 3 components. Note: If, in step b., I select Add Spare, select the new component, then remove one of the old components, gnome-disk-utility reports the array as degraded, rebuilds into the spare, and when done, reports the status as running and the number of components in the array as 2. This is desired behavior, but does not address my problem. I wish to always maintain at least two healthy disks in my array. If I need to replace a disk with a new one, I can, as mentioned in the note above, mark the new disk as a spare and remove the old disk from the array. While this will eventually rebuild the array, it leaves the array in a degraded state until the new disk is fully synced, leaving data at risk. Rather, I wish to be able to add a new disk to the existing array of two disks, have it sync up, then remove one of the old disks, leaving one old and one new disk in the array. In this situation, there are always at least two disks in the array at all times. Unfortunately, this does not result in the desired result, as gnome-disk-utility thinks that I want to permanently change the number of disks in the array from 2 to 3. There is no way to tell gnome-disk-utility that I wish to decrease the number of disks in the array from 3 to 2. [Bug 453072] Re: Context menu for an USB pendrive shows Unmount, Eject and Safely Remove Drive
Right now, i think unmount is the best option, Kamereon has true: The only way I know to really free this space on an external drive is to use 'unmount'. On 'unmount' Nautilus will ask me if i want to delete the trash. 'safely remove' and 'eject' will not do that. So I think that even the most non-technical users will need 'unmount' if they ever want to free some space on their drive. A better solution would of course be, if 'safely remove' and 'eject' would be merged to one command and that that command would also clear the trash. Re: [Bug 422761] Re: Gstream-Ubuntu 9.04 Issues
I can assure you though that it won't work because of the proprietaryness of most Panasonic equipment, especially since it was designed for our enemy windows. Even with that I had tried every verson of Ubuntu on the Panasonics, I have had 6 Panasonic toughbooks, and when I got 9.04 to work on it I was so happy except for the fact that sometimes when you wouldn't start it up it would freeze on boot, also you would have no HOTKEY's because of that dam ACPI. Japanese ACPI's and Ubuntu just don't mix let me say that, I care less how many people say different. But with the 30+ Laptops I have had personally and the years of experience and the 7+ High Level programming languages I already know and my knowledge of Electrical Engineering, trust me Japanese ACPI and Ubuntu hate each other, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager I am using a nebook, Asus Eee PC. I am dual booting, Windows 7 is the other OS. Once 10.04 was installed the screen brightness is down around 60-70% I'd guess, even while the setting is at 100%. After 2 minutes of activity (I have set it at 2 minutes) when the screen normally should dim, instead it brightens slightly, perhaps 5% more brighter. Both performance and powersaver are set at 100%. [Bug 576133] Re: Problem creating a user with encrypted home directory and automatic logon.
Thanks for the bug. Yes I confirmed this bug, talked to Martin Pitt. [Bug 533394] Re: Evince displays some summation symbols incorrectly in pdfs
In fact, it is still happening in Ubuntu 10.04. In this paper: http://www.jmlr.org/papers/volume9/balakrishnan08a/balakrishnan08a.pdf page 2, formula one, there is no summation symbol (and a horrible division one instead). Can anyone confirm that the version in Ubuntu 10.04 was not supposed to be fixed. [Bug 64301] Re: Unable to unlock screen when using ldap
Problem solved for me as well. It was in fact a permission problem: all the ldap-files were world-readable, except the certificate. Re: [Bug 33288] Re: Evince doesn't handle columns properly
This document does have the column selection issue. Each row of four numbers in A1, ..., A5 behaves as a table that includes some of the text above it as well as the single-character line below. There is an interesting behavior in slowly selecting one character at a time from left to right along the row of numbers. When you reach the space between each entry (say between 1) 30 and 2) 60 in A1), the selection skips to the line above, then skips back down when the next number is scanned. The results unusable because the text from both columns becomes mixed. Please note, this is not a PDF problem, using Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.x under Windows does properly copy-paste columned text over to OpenOffice.org.
