RE: Re: [DISCUSS] Incubating Proposal of DevLake

2022-04-10 Thread Hezheng Yin
Hi Felix,

Thank you for your interest in DevLake and we're excited to have you as our
mentor.

- Both DevLake and DevStream (https://github.com/devstream-io/devstream) are
initially developed at Merico. DevLake is a DevOps data platform while
DevStream is a DevOps toolchain manager, which helps developers install and
integrate DevOps tools (like yum or apk for DevOps tools). They're led by two
independent teams but do share a few contributors.

- We don't know GitHub user philipjung164 and he is not a contributor to
DevLake. We're not sure why he duplicated DevLake's repo on GitHub without
forking it. While browsing his GitHub profile, we noticed that he also
duplicated Apache Superset and CNCF Jaeger in a similar fashion. Do you have
any advice regarding these dup repos on GitHub?

Thanks again and please let us know if you have any other questions.

All the best,
Hezheng

But when I sent the rc03 vote email, I used the wrong title, so I resent the

The final vote is for rc03.

Re: [VOTE] Vote for releasing Apache Doris 1.0.0-incubating-rc03

2022-04-10 Thread Jean-Baptiste Onofré
Hi,

Does this release replace rc02 ?

Should we vote for both rc02 and rc03 or just for rc03 ?

It's not clear for me why we have rc02 and rc03 vote at same time. If
there was an issue in rc02, then, why not just cancel rc02 and revote
on this one ?

[DISCUSS] Graduate Apache Doris (Incubating) as TLP

2022-04-10 Thread 陈明雨
Dear Incubator Community,

After a discussion[1][2] and vote[3] with the community, we believe Apache
Doris (Incubating) is ready for graduation to a TLP, and we'd like to make a
discussion with the IPMC.

Doris is an MPP-based interactive SQL data warehousing for reporting and
analysis and entering the incubator in Sep, 2018.

The following is a brief overview of the progress of the Doris project and
community since entering the incubator:

1. Community

- 9 new PPMC members were added, from five different companies, bringing
the total number of PPMC members to 22.

- 20 new Committers were added (including the new PPMC members), bringing
the total number of Committers to 33.

- The number of Contributors is now 289 and growing[4].

- The dev@doris mailing list currently has 328 subscribers, and all major
project discussions are happening in the dev@doris.

2. Project

- 7 releases by 6 release managers. All compliance issues have been
resolved.

- Doris official website[5] is compliant with Apache Foundation
requirements[6].

- Project maturity model is detailed in [7].

- We have also created a pre-graduation Check List[8] following the Apache
official website guidelines and are currently moving forward.

- See Doris Project Incubation Status[9] for more info

Thanks Duo for checking. Did you see any files that do need to be
mentioned in LICENSE?

Also is there a HOWTO how to run the rat check on our repo?

Thanks for starting this thread, Liang!

I'm very glad to be the mentor of this project. I've connected with

Hope this project could be accepted by the incubator, and push forward
healthily to build up a better community!
