Re: [kubernetes-users] Kubernetes 1.9 on Fedora 27 get nodes shows no resource found

2018-03-14 Thread Sreejith Sreejayan
Hi, Rober Bailey setup cluster used pure kubernetes open source documention
. Actually problem solved ,Accidentally looked into journetctl -u kublet
and error was on turining on swap after turing it off cluster started
working and in kubelet configuration file they deprecated
KUBELET_ARGS="--cgroup-driver=systemd
--kubeconfig=/etc/kubernetes/master-kubeconfig.yaml" --required flag that
also i removed now everything working fine .

How did you set up your cluster? If you used a tool, you would probably get
better support from the tool authors rather than the general purpose users
list.

[kubernetes-users] Proposal for a new SIG: SIG-ibmcloud

2018-03-14 Thread Sahdev Zala
Hello everyone,

I would like to propose the creation of SIG-ibmcloud with a purpose similar
to other cloud provider SIGs such as SIG-aws, SIG-azure and SIG-gcp. Below
are the details:

*Mission statement:*

A Special Interest Group (SIG) for building, deploying, maintaining,
supporting, and using Kubernetes on IBM Public and Private Cloud.

*Secondary statement:*

The SIG will be focused on designing, discussing, and maintaining the IBM
Cloud provider and its relevant work. The SIG responsibilities will also
include roadmap and release requirements for Kubernetes on IBM Cloud.

*Purpose of the SIG:*

The IBM Cloud Container Service (ICS) and IBM Cloud Private (ICP) are built
on Kubernetes and related CNCF projects. IBM is a platinum member of the
CNCF and significant numbers of IBM developers are working on upstream
Kubernetes and related projects like helm, etcd, envoy/istio, prometheus
etc. The specific purpose of the SIG includes:

- Provide an open collaboration platform to rapidly growing ICS and ICP
Kubernetes community to discuss feedback and share knowledge.

- Identify work that can be contributed back to the Kubernetes upstream.

- Identify needed improvements in the Kubernetes based on user feedback.

- Encourage and mentor ICS and ICP developers, and ICS and ICP adopters to
contribute to the Kubernetes various upstream repositories.

- Act as a liaison between Kubernetes upstream and IBM Cloud Kubernetes
implementation, conformance testing etc.

The SIG is not intended to discuss ICS and ICP technical development issues
rather it will be Kubernetes focused.

*Implementation:*

- The SIG will follow all pre-requisite as specified by the SIG Governance
including one hour bi-weekly call, google group, github work, etc. There is
already a Kubernetes slack channel for IBM Cloud, #ibm-cloud which will be
renamed per SIG naming convention.

- The SIG will have 3 leaders at any given time. I will be an initial point
of contact as we work on creating the SIG.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!!

Best regards,

Sahdev Zala

Kubernetes contributor and org member, IBM

[kubernetes-users] Cluster-autoscaler v1.0.4 error

Hello ,I’m using CA v1.0.4 from kubernetes for aws node autoscaling
(Kubernetes version 1.8.3)

And I’m getting below error in the logs of CA pod

node registry: RequestError: send request failed
caused by: Post https://autoscaling.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/: dial tcp: i/o
timeout

I have tried deploying kube-dns and CA on master nodes as suggested in this
git issue
still no luck

https://github.com/kubernetes/autoscaler/issues/113. I also have
autoscaling:* for IAM role policy

Please suggest !

[kubernetes-users] List Pod's Labels from an Endpoint instance

2018-03-14 Thread Joao Morais

Hi list, I need to retrieve the Labels map from a Pod object but I only have
the Endpoint object. The options I think I have are:

- Instantiate the Pod or the ObjectMeta of the Pod from the
ep.Subsets[].Addresses[].TargetRef.(ObjectReference). If this is a valid
option, how do I instantiate something from an ObjectReference?

- Track Pods instead of Endpoints. I’m using
k8s.io/client-go/tools/cache.Store.(Endpoint) to track Endpoints, perhaps I can
change to Pods if, from an Endpoint, I cannot list Labels of the corresponding
Pod. Btw is there any relevant performance penalty changing from ep to pod?

Is there a preferrable option here?

~jm
