Bug#452942: libpam-gnome-keyring: gdm does not use libpam-gnome-keyring by default

2007-11-26 Thread Vincent Danjean
Package: libpam-gnome-keyring
Version: 2.20.2-1
Severity: normal

In /usr/share/doc/libpam-gnome-keyring/README.Debian, we can read :
=
The default PAM configuration for GDM and gnome-screensaver already
uses pam_gnome_keyring.
=

It does not seem the case on my system.
I have just installed libpam-gnome-keyring and *purged* libpam-keyring.
Doing so, I also removed in /etc/pam.d/gdm two lines :
authoptionalpam_keyring.so
@include common-pamkeyring

I do not remember if these two lines have been automatically or manually
added (I started to use pam_keyring before automatic configuration was
ready)
Nevertheless, /etc/pam.d/common-pamkeyring was a file provided by
libpam-keyring (and not libpam-gnome-keyring) and /etc/pam.d/gdm
is the one the gdm package and I need to give my keyring password after
my login.

Adding to /etc/pam.d/gdm the two following lines solves the problem:
authoptionalpam_gnome_keyring.so
session optionalpam_gnome_keyring.so auto_start

So default PAM configuration for GDM does not use pam_gnome_keyring.
I did not check for gnome-screensaver.

  Best regards,
Vincent

I see what you mean [...] I can't reproduce the issue. Do you have
a sample document that shows this behavior?

Please find attached an example PDF, generated by html2ps and ps2pdf.

It would be good to ask someone who knows the PDF format, but it looks
to me that these borders are requested in the document:
 /Type/Annot
 /Rect [196.623 647.15 220.623 659.25]
 /Border [0 0 1]
 /A/URI(http://wikipedia.org/wiki/1960)
 /S/URI

Hmm. AFAICT html2ps was version 1.0b5-5 both before and after I
noticed this change, so perhaps evince was (until recently) ignoring
this request. That is, evince not drawing the borders was a bug and
the bug was recently fixed.

This is just a guess; I'm not at all familiar with PostScript or PDF.

As an experiment, I did

sed -i '\|/Border \[0 0 1\]|c/Border [0 0 0]' evince.pdf

and sure enough, the borders are gone (at least when viewed with
evince).

It occurs to me that another explanation is possible -- the conversion
from html2ps' PostScript to evince's PDF is done by ps2pdf, from
ghostscript. Perhaps a recent upgrade of ghostscript added this
feature.

Bug#451203: gnome-applets: mixer-applet shows mute when not muted, after changing volume

2007-11-26 Thread Josselin Mouette
Hi,

Le vendredi 16 novembre 2007 à 14:30 -0800, Josh Triplett a écrit :
It *does* happen if I use the scroll wheel on the icon or slider, or
if I click on the +/- buttons on the slider, or if I drag the slider,
or if I use the up/down or +/- keys with the volume slider open.

To further muddy the waters: if I open the volume control (by
double-clicking the volume icon) and drag any of the stereo sliders around
other than PCM, the left-right link may break, and/or the volume may
flicker between *actually* muted and not (as in actually affecting the
real volume level and showing up in alsamixer, unlike the volume icon which
only misrepresented the volume as muted). This may or may not represent
 a separate bug.

This looks like a problem in snd-hda-intel, and it wouldn't be the first
one. The GNOME stuff (control-center and the applet) often try to do
clever things with the volume control, and gets hit hard by driver bugs.

You can try to play with the model= option when loading the module. It
has fixed a nasty issue with my own HDA card.

Does this happen only with totem or with all GTK+ applications?

In all cases, it would be nice if you could install totem-dbg and

frozen.

This must be because of the scaling algorithm used. The only way to be

Lua's length operator (#) is considered as a comment, though,
incorrect. It is correct in the sense that the following line is at
 the top of a source
 file:
 #!/usr/bin/lua
and should be coloured as a comment but the character '#' is a part of
the language syntax in Lua. It can be a bit bothering to see some
 random lines
in your source code coloured as a comment while it isn't one.

GtkSourceView 1.x is deprecated. This specific bug seems to be fixed in
GtkSourceView 2.0 which is used by GNOME 2.20.

It was handy for launching games that are not included in the gnome

It is only disabled. You can enable it again in the menu editor.

As for those games, I think you should file bugs against each of them so
that they provide a desktop file.

Bug#393976: tsclient: Bug still present

2007-11-26 Thread Clement 'nodens' Hermann
Hi,

Javier Kohen a écrit :

This bug has not been solved by the latest update. I still get the reconnect
dialog after cleanly disconnecting from a VNC host.

Could you please explain further cleanly disconnecting ? I cannot
reproduce it here (F8 - quit viewer does not bring up the reconnect
dialog, and closing the vnc client windows does not bring it either). To
bring up the reconnect dialog, I have to kill the vncviewer process (not
exactly a clean disconnect ;) ).

Both those actions yield the reconnect dialog here. Like I said in my
original report, the details window shows VNCviewer's output to stdout,
as if it were an error message. All it says is the VNC version (4.1.1),
the server's parameters and the chosen encoding. See below:

Le vendredi 23 novembre 2007 à 18:04 +0100, Remi Vanicat a écrit :
There can be two reasons for this kind of issues:
   1. There is something misconfigured in the network settings (e.g.
the loopback interface or the DNS server), which is causing
  timeouts.

mm, telnet localhost smtp work as excpected, so the loopback interface
 seem to work.
I've just test it: the session launch work as excpected if the network
cable is unplug. So the problem is probably there

Yes, it would be interesting to see the network configuration
(ifconfig), the DNS configuration (/etc/resolv.conf) and the route
configuration (route -n) when the cable is plugged.

Another thought: do you have network-manager installed? It maybe
interacting badly with something else that is managing your network
(although it is supposed to adapt).

Bug#453004: evince: ev_document_misc_surface_from_pixbuf() implicitly converted to pointer

2007-11-26 Thread dann frazier
Package: evince
Version: 2.20.1-2
Severity: important
Tags: patch
Usertags: implicit-pointer-conversion

Our automated buildd log filter[1] detected a problem that is likely to
cause your package to segfault on architectures where the size of a
pointer is greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64 and amd64.

This is often due to a missing function prototype definition.
For more information, see [2].
