Bug#452942: libpam-gnome-keyring: gdm does not use libpam-gnome-keyring by default
Package: libpam-gnome-keyring Version: 2.20.2-1 Severity: normal In /usr/share/doc/libpam-gnome-keyring/README.Debian, we can read : = The default PAM configuration for GDM and gnome-screensaver already uses pam_gnome_keyring. = It does not seem the case on my system. I have just installed libpam-gnome-keyring and *purged* libpam-keyring. Doing so, I also removed in /etc/pam.d/gdm two lines : authoptionalpam_keyring.so @include common-pamkeyring I do not remember if these two lines have been automatically or manually added (I started to use pam_keyring before automatic configuration was ready) Nevertheless, /etc/pam.d/common-pamkeyring was a file provided by libpam-keyring (and not libpam-gnome-keyring) and /etc/pam.d/gdm is the one the gdm package and I need to give my keyring password after my login. Adding to /etc/pam.d/gdm the two following lines solves the problem: authoptionalpam_gnome_keyring.so session optionalpam_gnome_keyring.so auto_start So default PAM configuration for GDM does not use pam_gnome_keyring. I did not check for gnome-screensaver. Do you have a sample document that shows this behavior? Please find attached an example PDF, generated by html2ps and ps2pdf. It would be good to ask someone who knows the PDF format, but it looks to me that these borders are requested in the document: /Type/Annot /Rect [196.623 647.15 220.623 659.25] /Border [0 0 1] /A/URI(http://wikipedia.org/wiki/1960) /S/URI Hmm. AFAICT html2ps was version 1.0b5-5 both before and after I noticed this change, so perhaps evince was (until recently) ignoring this request. That is, evince not drawing the borders was a bug and the bug was recently fixed. This is just a guess; I'm not at all familiar with PostScript or PDF. signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ pkg-gnome-maintainers mailing list pkg-gnome-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-gnome-maintainers

It occurs to me that another explanation is possible -- the conversion from html2ps' PostScript to evince's PDF is done by ps2pdf, from ghostscript. Bug#451203: gnome-applets: mixer-applet shows mute when not muted, after changing volume
Hi, Le vendredi 16 novembre 2007 à 14:30 -0800, Josh Triplett a écrit : It *does* happen if I use the scroll wheel on the icon or slider, or if I click on the +/- buttons on the slider, or if I drag the slider, or if I use the up/down or +/- keys with the volume slider open. To further muddy the waters: if I open the volume control (by double-clicking the volume icon) and drag any of the stereo sliders around other than PCM, the left-right link may break, and/or the volume may flicker between *actually* muted and not (as in actually affecting the real volume level and showing up in alsamixer, unlike the volume icon which only misrepresented the volume as muted). This may or may not represent a separate bug. This looks like a problem in snd-hda-intel, and it wouldn't be the first one. The GNOME stuff (control-center and the applet) often try to do clever things with the volume control, and gets hit hard by driver bugs. You can try to play with the model= option when loading the module. It has fixed a nasty issue with my own HDA card. Cheers, -- .''`. : :' : We are debian.org. reassign 452469 gnome-session thanks Le vendredi 23 novembre 2007 à 18:04 +0100, Remi Vanicat a écrit : There can be two reasons for this kind of issues: 1. There is something misconfigured in the network settings (e.g. the loopback interface or the DNS server), which is causing timeouts. mm, telnet localhost smtp work as excpected, so the loopback interface seem to work. I've just test it: the session launch work as excpected if the network cable is unplug. So the problem is probably there Yes, it would be interesting to see the network configuration (ifconfig), the DNS configuration (/etc/resolv.conf) and the route configuration (route -n) when the cable is plugged. Another thought: do you have network-manager installed? It maybe interacting badly with something else that is managing your network (although it is supposed to adapt). -- .''`. : :' : We are debian.org. Bug#453004: evince: ev_document_misc_surface_from_pixbuf() implicitly converted to pointer
Package: evince Version: 2.20.1-2 Severity: important Tags: patch Usertags: implicit-pointer-conversion Our automated buildd log filter[1] detected a problem that is likely to cause your package to segfault on architectures where the size of a pointer is greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64 and amd64. This is often due to a missing function prototype definition. For more information, see [2].
