[qmailtoaster] remove spamassasin and clamav
Hello, I want to install QMT without Clamav and Spamassasin. If i modify http://www.qmailtoaster.com/centos/cnt50/cnt50-install-script.sh and remove the lines for those two packeges everything will be k ? Thank you in advance Bogdan
Re: [qmailtoaster] remove spamassasin and clamav
You don't need to remove them. Script asks for every package and you can answer no. Possible dependency issues are other story thou. Thank you in advance Bogdan You'll also need to not install simscan-toaster (which depends on them both), and remove simscan from the tcp.smtp file. You might need to do something else as well that I'm not aware of. The simplest way is to go ahead and install them, then modify /var/qmail/control/simcontrol to turn them off. It wouldn't be quite as efficient as removing them entirely though. -- -Eric 'shubes' - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[qmailtoaster] spamdyke duplicates
I've installed spamdyke and it seems to be blocking a lot of spam. However, I have a few emails that keep timing out. One in particular I have gotten over 100 times. What do I need to tweek to get this message through. It is a newsletter which we need to be able to recieve. grip And yes it does come from an Exchange /grip Here is what I have already done: Added the domain to the whitelist_rdns (though there ip and rdns is fine) installed djbdns according to the install. rebooted and still no love (timeout in the logs). Re: [qmailtoaster] spamdyke duplicates
Most likely, just increasing the idle timeout setting will fix this (idle-timeout-secs in the configuration file). All connections are subject to the timeouts, whether they are whitelisted or not. In the current version, timed-out connections still deliver their messages (which is why you've received hundreds of partial copies of the message). In the upcoming version (4.0.0), this has been changed so timed-out connections will not deliver anything. -- Sam Clippinger Kent Busbee wrote: I've installed spamdyke and it seems to be blocking a lot of spam. Sam has fixed it but is waiting on a confirmation (from me) that the fix works. I hope to have that confirmation this week. [qmailtoaster] Hello and a question. :)
Hey guys, I'm new to the list, and want to say thanks for a great product. :) I've never had any problems installing before, so this time has me a bit flummoxed. :) I've googled extensively with no result, so I thought I'd consult the experts. Here's the deal: I'm installing under CentOS 5.1, kernel 2.6.18-53.1.19.el5. I've installed all the dependencies, and everything went well in the install until it got to the point of rebuilding spamassassin-toaster-3.2.4-1.3.13.src.rpm. Here was the command line: rpmbuild --rebuild --with cnt50 spamassassin-toaster-3.2.4-1.3.13.src.rpm And everything proceeded up until this point: --- + install -m 0644 /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/qmailtoaster.local.cf.bz2 /var/tmp/spamassassin-toaster-root/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf.bz2 install: cannot create regular file `/var/tmp/spamassassin-toaster-root/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf.bz2': No such file or directory error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.67508 (%install) RPM build errors: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.67508 (%install) --- Weird... So I tried running the install command, with the same result. I created the directory myself after, like this: # mkdir /var/tmp/spamassassin-toaster-root/etc/mail/spamassassin/ And then was able to install that package. However, if I try running the build again, it deletes that directory somewhere along the way, and it stops at the same spot with the cannot create regular file message there... Any ideas? :) Thanks in advance! Dave
Re: [qmailtoaster] Hello and a question. :)
Hi Mr. Fix -- This is a problem we found about a month or so ago. At that time, Eric Shubes created a .14.src.rpm, and then a .15.src.rpm which correct this problem. If you can't find the attachments on the list archive, let us know and one of us will send you the file by email. Erik Espinoza, who has the authority and passwords to add new files to the website, has not been able to - due to time constraints with his 'day job' - confirm these later builds and approve them on the site. However, if I try running the build again, it deletes that directory somewhere along the way, and it stops at the same spot with the cannot create regular file message there... Any ideas? :) Thanks in advance! Dave Welcome to the club. :) I'm glad you asked that question (again) because I've spent a good deal of time recently (days actually) nailing it down. To make a long story (relatively) short, there's a bug in the perl ExtUtils::MakeMaker module which makes building a binary rpm properly down right difficult (to say the least). Spamassassin itself requires MakeMaker 5.4.5. The DESTDIR parameter was introduced in MakeMaker 6.11, and is intended to be used for rpm type installs. The trouble is (besides the fact that MakeMaker is downright evil), the DESTDIR parameter has never worked as advertised (it's still broken). I've been able to hack the spamassassin-toaster spec file to the extent that it works properly with MakeMaker 6.44, thanks to a spamassassin bug report. That's the good news. The bad news is that MakeMaker is part of the main perl package. COS4 has perl-5.8.5-36.el4_5.2, which contains MakeMaker 6.17. COS5 has perl-5.8.8-10.el5_0.2, which contains MakeMaker 6.30. The only way I can find to install MakeMaker 6.44 is to upgrade CPAN. Note, not upgrade *using* CPAN, upgrade CPAN itself, as in perl -e 'use CPAN; install Bundle::CPAN'. The newer MakeMaker will be updated as a dependency of CPAN. So that's where things presently stand. spamassassin-toaster-3.2.4-1.3.16.src.rpm (a development version that I've sent to Erik Espinoza) installs ok, but only with MakeMaker 6.44. I'm not sure where things will go from here, whether someone might find a way to get rpmbuild working with various broken MakeMaker versions, or whether MakeMaker 6.44 will become a minimum dependency for spamassassin-toaster. [qmailtoaster] Help regarding mail relay
Hi List, I am having a client. At first his domain was in a server, in which, send mail was running. if we put the command, host -t mx client.com, it will show, client.com mail is handled by 10 sendmail.one.com client.com mail is handled by 20 sendmail.two.com Then we moved the domain client.com to qmail server which is having qmail-toaster now if we put host -t mx client.com, it will show client.com mail is handled by 10 qmail.one.com client.com mail is handled by 20 sendmail.two.com Now the problem is, one mail from the [EMAIL PROTECTED] to [EMAIL PROTECTED] bounced. It is bounced from the server sendmail.two.com(Secondary MX) telling that 553 5.3.0 [EMAIL PROTECTED]... nouser No such user 550 5.1.1 [EMAIL PROTECTED]... User unknown Now i removed the secondary mx record. But this is not a solution. My doubt is, Why a local mail is bounced from secondary server? The user used outlook, so he may use old settings. Because the domain is not completely deleted in the old server. But He is telling that few mails to user2 only bouncing. Please Please clarify. -- Thanks and Regards, S.Senthilvel,
